Electrical Theory
Our learners initially acquire the foundational knowledge required to accurately inspect, test, and verify electrical installations in accordance with established standards. They first become familiar with the essential health and safety regulations pertinent to inspection and testing. Furthermore, they comprehend the principles of both dead and live testing applied within electrical installations. In addition, they are trained to accurately code existing electrical installations. Finally, they cultivate the skills necessary to proficiently verify and interpret the results of inspection and testing.

Inspection and Testing Practical
Importantly, we dedicate at least one full day solely to testing and inspection procedures, with a strong focus on both initial verification and periodic inspection. During this time, learners gain hands-on experience using industry-standard test equipment, working through real-world scenarios to ensure they fully understand correct procedures, documentation, and compliance with current regulations.

This combined course is primarily aimed at electricians, who carry out a range of inspections and testing on new and existing installations.
You should be able to work with minimum supervision and have a good record of safety, fault correction and ensuring work meets the required standard.
This inspection and testing course prepares candidates for initial verification and periodic inspection and testing on single and three-phase electrical installations.
The course will include theory and practical lessons on inspection, testing, verification, and certification of electrical installations.
The course will last 7 days, which includes 5 days of learning in our classroom and workshop.
There will be a 2 hour online multiple choice exam and 4 hour practical exam taken on the afternoon of the 6th and 7th day.
This testing and inspection 2391 course will teach you the principles, practices and legislation for the initial verification and periodic inspection of electrical installations of existing electrical installations with statutory and non-statutory regulations and requirements.
The 2391 qualification is a requirement to become a Quality Supervisor for an electrical contractor, registered with a competent person scheme such as NICEIC or Napit. It is also a pre-requisite to obtain the Approved Electrician JIB Gold card.
