Electrical Courses Ltd
Here at Electrical Courses Ltd we specialise in what we call the Electrical Improver route, also known as the Adult trainee route which has a slightly different set of Electrician Courses but with the same outcome as an Apprenticeship.
The qualifications to become a qualified Electrician
You are probably under the impression already that the qualifications required to become a qualified Electrician is a bit of a minefield! Ideally to become a qualified Electrician you should go down the old traditional route of a 4 year Apprenticeship with your local FE College. The problem is not everyone who is interested in becoming an Electrician is 16 years old (with no or little financial commitments). This is where Electrical Courses Ltd can help with offering courses suited to Adult trainees. Have a look at the courses below or if you would like more information check out or blog.
The Electrical Courses Improver route
This is your first step to becoming an Electrician. This course teaches learners all about the basic theory and practical skills of being an Electrician.
This course teaches learners more advanced Electrical principles and design. It will also include Testing and fault diagnostics of Electrical Installations
The final course is the work based NVQ Portfolio. This involves the learners gathering evidence in a real job and building an online portfolio.

I have now been on the 18th edition and 2391 courses at EC Ltd and have found them to be well informed and great tutors. They are more than happy to spend the time with you if you ask for an extra hand. It’s a great place to learn and feel relaxed in. Already looking to book onto their EV charging course and would recommend to anyone. Thanks guys 👍 Dylan Marshall2025-04-30Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Recommended to other colleagues, couldn’t fault the centre either. Mike Horder2025-03-05Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I decided to retrain as an electrician in my 50s and chose Electrical Courses. I initially completed the foundation of City & Guilds level 2 & 3 Installations, immediately followed by the Level 3 18th Edition qualification. I felt that the focus of the training was to equip me with the skills to do the job. The Instructors were extremely supportive, while demanding high standards. The courses require you to put a lot of work in. When I started on my first contract I felt well prepared for it. The fact that the same supervisor at the same firm employed me on a different job some months later is a testament to this. I have since completed my Level 3 NVQ with Electrical Courses and the AM2 at the NET testing centre on the Electrical Courses site and just applied for my Gold Card. I would recommend Electrical Courses without reservation.
