Who is the inspection and testing (2391-50) qualification for?


This is a new qualification which is primarily aimed at qualified electricians, who have a great deal of technical skills and knowledge who may have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training before going on to other City & Guilds qualifications. You should be able to work with minimum supervision and have a good record of safety, fault correction and ensuring work meets the required standard. This new course replaces part of the old 2391 Inspection, certification and testing course.).

What does the inspection and testing (2391-50) qualification cover?


This qualification prepares candidates for the initial verification of new electrical installation work and replaces part of the old 2391 Inspection, testing and Certification qualification.

What does the inspection and testing (2391-50) course consist of?

  • The course last 5 days and is taught in both a classroom and practical environment.
  • There are three types of City and Guild assessments set for this qualification and they are;
    • Practical Assessment
    • Multiple choice Online exam
    • Written exam

Why do you need the inspection and testing (2391-50) qualification?


This qualification will teach you the principles, practices and legislation for the initial verification of electrical installations with statutory and non-statutory regulations and requirements. It will also allow you to progress onto the Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations.
